How Our Cafe Has Grown Over the Past Year
From a small pop-up to a thriving community hub — we look back at twelve months of coffee, community, and growth.
When we first opened our doors, we had six tables, a second-hand espresso machine, and a small army of volunteers who believed in what we were trying to build. A year on, things look very different — and very much the same.
The tables have multiplied. The espresso machine has been upgraded (twice). Our team of trainees has grown to include young people from right across Suffolk. But the thing that hasn’t changed is the reason we’re here: to give young people a real chance.

Over the past twelve months we’ve served over 12,000 cups of coffee, welcomed more than 30 trainees through our programme, and hosted 45 community events. We’ve also launched our afternoon toastie menu, which has — if the queue is anything to go by — been something of a hit.
Thank you to every customer, volunteer, and supporter who’s made this year what it was. We can’t wait to show you what’s next.
